Coordinateurs du projet
Context
The objective of the LS2N’s OPT EMR project is to conduct an exploratory study of the logistical issues facing the MRE sector, specifically fixed and floating wind turbines.
The aim of the project is to identify the issues, challenges, and possible solutions, in collaboration with the relevant manufacturers, and to draw up specifications for the tools that will need to be developed in the future. It will also involve identifying potential partners and drafting a summary document in order to be able to respond to a future call for research projects on the subject. The issues identified and the solutions proposed will be targeted at the Pays de la Loire region, and in particular the Nantes-Saint-Nazaire area, while being developed in a generic way so that they can be applied in other contexts.
An initial model for optimizing the MRE supply chain will be developed in order to validate the approach and the resolution methods to be implemented.
The project will be broken down into several stages:
- Detailed study of the global offshore wind energy supply chain in the Pays de la Loire region: identification of stakeholders and activities in the region.
- Identification of constraints related to offshore wind energy logistics.
- Identification of manufacturers’ needs in terms of decision-making tools to optimize the flows concerned.
- State of the art in science and state of the art in industrial practices operating in other regions.
- Initial analysis of issues and collection of information.
- Creation of an optimization model (prototype) and identification of the resolution methods to be used.
- Preparation of specifications for decision-making tools.
- Development of a research project and preparation of a response to a future call for projects.
Scientific breakthroughs and innovation
- Propose a study of the logistics of the offshore wind energy sector and its specific characteristics in the Nazaire region.
- Propose specifications for the development of a decision-making tool to help plan the sector’s flows, from port to sea.
- Take into account manufacturing, transport, and weather uncertainties.
Expected technical and economic impact
- Gather information on the needs of manufacturers in order to optimize logistics flows in the MRE sector, particularly for fixed and floating wind turbines.
- Enable practical solutions to be provided in the long term to meet the challenges facing the sector.
- Conduct an exploratory study of the logistics issues facing the MRE sector and identify the associated scientific barriers.
Demonstrator
- Develop a prototype IT tool for optimizing flows.
Perspectives
Respond to a national call for projects to finance the development of the planned decision-making support tools.
